This May’s Art Attack is one you don’t want to miss! Featuring a vast array of inspiring industrial, fine arts, contemporary visual arts, music, and makers in Seattle’s oldest neighborhood.  Georgetown, where art matters.

The FREE and family friendly Art Ride Bus tours the art destinations, including the west end locations such as studio e, the Shed Gallery and Equinox Studios, with pick locations throughout Georgetown, enabling art lovers to experience it all.

Taylor Renno is coming back into the art world after taking some time off to pursue a career in neuroscience. That experience now informs her art. This collection is inspired by dementia and Alzheimer’s sufferers and caregivers.

John Muir Elementary, part of Seattle Public Schools, is a culturally rich school located in the Rainier Valley.  As a Title 1 school with limited resources, visual arts and our creative expressions act as a connector to address the inequities to create social change – internally and externally. With some background of the harmful effects of fast fashion, students only worked with remnants and a variety of fabrics and textiles donated by Prairie Underground.

Jellyfish Brewing  and Bruno B Art Collectif

Isaac Quigley, a Seattle-based artist whose acrylic paintings incorporate found objects, craft supplies, studio refuse, and heavy layers of collage. Though sculptural, drawing and form are essential, his process relies on an intuitive spontaneity that creates a messy and raw aesthetic. He uses materials to flesh-out a variety of landscapes and biological processes to help describe our relationship to our environment.

Drag and the City attracts lovers of drag shows from near and far! Dames of Drag is back for the latest installment featuring Tru St. JamesDonnatella HoweKara SutraDutchess Drew Nightshade and Miss Fraya Love .  All performers offer different generational views and interpretations of the art of drag including some LIVE singing and comedy.

Georgetown Trailer Park Mall

Join us for the official opening of Le Petite Cinema , a new film/theater/poetry space, tucked away in a shipping container in the heart of the Georgetown Trailer Park Mall.  We are kicking off with a Vintage Cartoon Bonanza projected on real, live, old school 16mm film! Starting at 6pm, the show will feature sound and silent toons, as well as both black and white and color film’s spanning several decades starting in the 1920’s! Free popcorn!

Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery Jonathan Evison reads from the 10th anniversary edition of his debut novel All About Lulu, winner of the 2008 Washington State Book Award. He has since gone on to a stellar career of bestselling books including West of Here, The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving (adapted to a Nexflix original film starring Paul Rudd and Selena Gomez), and This is Your Life Harriett Chance! On display will be an exhibition of prints by Wallace Wood.

Georgetown Records  Saturday, March 10, 8:00 PM, Berlin musician Mary Ocher performs songs from her new album, The West Against the People, produced by Krautrock icon Hans-Joachim Irmler of Faust.


All City Coffee  Clutter by Steven Reddy. Steven Reddy draws detailed scenes of urban clutter in pen, ink and watercolor. Steven teaches Illustration at Gage Academy in Seattle, has two online classes with Craftsy.com, taught at the USk 2017 Symposium in Chicago, and has published three large-format illustrated memoirs based on 40 years of obsessive daily drawing. His latest book is Everyday Sketching and Drawing: 5 Steps to a Unique and Personal Sketchbook Habit.

Bridge Productions  Kat Larson, “carefull” Come by the next 2 Saturdays, 2-7pm to see Kat Larson’s tender imagery in photos and video. Among our favorite pieces is this lightwell, in which you discover inner light. Other works include slideshows of the Ghost, shot during Larson’s residency in Reykjavik.

Prairie Underground  Artist Residency featuring Francesca Lohman. Francesca Lohmann will be Prairie Underground’s Artist in Residence for the month of March. The residency is an open-ended exploration within the gallery space using taffy, floral materials, and other collected objects to produce new work.

Oxbow presents More Light an installation by Katy Stone as part of her 2 month residency. Opening reception on March 10, 6-9 during Art Attack.


Georgetown Liquor Company  Francine Buckner has lived in Georgetown for 11 years and will be showing photographs of the neighborhood and other urban and rural landscapes, microscopy photos, and a collection of portraits of Istanbul and it’s street cats.


Ceres Studio located at 5626 Airport Way S is featuring live music, homemade, seasonal bites, and four painters: Deborah Stachowic does beeswax encaustic, fused glass, jewelry, and watercolor. Marie Stuppard is an acrylic/encaustic artist inspired by unusual shapes and textures. Maura McGurk‘s layered, mixed-media paintings evoke the passage of time. Victoria Vinson-Jacobs creates highly textured beeswax encaustic paintings inspired by movement. This month: acoustic guitar by Cody Choi.


Krab Jab Studio  Muppett Rawk! Its an encore reception of the fantastically popular, muppet-inspired group show that pairs iconic album covers with Jim Henson’s beloved creations. Local illustrators and comic book artists are on the roster, and we have new pieces to debut this evening! Machine House Brewery Images from the self published zine “No Boys” by Maciek Szczerba. In the streets of Wroclaw, Poland these images are fleeting, open frames of current public life in a thousand year old city. Don’t miss Soul Night following Art Attack with DJ Brownstone spinning vintage Soul, R&B and 70s/80s tunes.

studio e  Opening March 10, 2018, is Thicket, a group exhibition of paintings centered on the intersection of vigorous materiality in medium and earthy/ natural images, whether depicted or suggested.  Featuring Sarah Norsworthy, whose thick paint application suggests an abundance of organic fecundity; Brian Cypher‘s energetic monochromatic brush strokes produce prickly, tree-like silhouettes; Tyler Keeton Robbins‘ densely packed monochromatic directional strokes evoke an almost cellular dynamism; and Rachel Maxi, whose earthy pallet and painterly plentitude at near-frosting levels converge in forms abstracted from nature.  March 9th-April 7th, 2018

Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery  presents TRUMP’S ABC, a show of original art by Ann Telnaes, the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist for the Washington Post. The exhibition opens on Saturday, February 10. The artist will appear to discuss her work and sign copies of her alphabet book for adults on Saturday, February 17 at 7:00 PM.

Bridge Productions  Kat LarsonThe Lens of Lyra. In Kat Larson’s continued stories of The Ghost from Vega, we learn the ghost’s name is Lyra. In this new chapter, Lyra continues to embody messages of love and compassion as forms of contemporary activism against leaders who deplete energy from the Earth and her inhabitants. Lyra empowers humans with the quest for militant positivity, fighting the good fight through regenerative self care and honest introspection; to ultimately deepen human connections, expand consciousness,  and  commence the great healing of Earth’s spiritual crisis. 8 February – 3 March / Opening reception Saturday 10 February 6-9pm

Interstitial Mind at Large, a site-specific installation by Seattle based artists Brandon Aleson,Benjamin Van Citters, and Reilly Donovan. The exhibition takes its name from Aldous Huxley’s The Doors of Perception, in which the author argues that certain experiences disable the filter of consciousness and enlarge perception. Through virtual reality and installation, Mind at Large explores the various modes of navigating the space between the digital and physical.

Prairie Underground  presents Everyday Possibilities of Feeling Like A Totally Different Personby Dakota Gearhart. A series of new videos incorporating collage, performance, and sound that take inspiration from popular makeup tutorial videos, but turn them into surrealist narratives of face shapeshifting. An ode to femme culture, as well as, a look into identity, gender, and costuming, the videos playful speak to the presentation of self and the many forms we can inhabit simultaneously.

Machine House Brewery  “Five Eyes”, a photo exhibition from Hiroyuki Nakada opens on Art Attack. In brash monochrome these photographs favor the eyes of its subjects, stubborn to capture a naked and lucid look from them. “…what I need now is to continue taking photographs. What else is there to do? By doing so, one day I will see into the human abyss.” -Hiroyuki Nakada. 32 photographs presented. Machine House is also host to post-Art AttackSoul Night from 8pm to Midnight.
