Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery   Celebrate Fantagraphics Bookstore’s 12th Anniversary with the exhibition HOW NOT TO DRAW COMICS  by Seattle cartoonist-turned-painter Jeremy Eaton. Opening Saturday, December 8, 6:00 to 9:00 PM with music by Bounty of the Wayside and The War of Northern Aggression . Exhibition continues through January 9.

All City Coffee   Holotropic is a series of works by Leo Shallat that explores the themes of growth and self reflection exhibiting thru December. Holotropic is defined as “Turning or changing – movement toward wholeness.” Each piece in this collection details a specific challenge, or aspect of self growth. These pieces are personal to the artist but are intended to explore themes relevant to anyone on the journey of self discovery.

Georgetown Music Join us for an acoustic performance from local songsters Bobby Malvestuto, Candice Rose and special guest.

Mainframe  Paintings, illustrations and photography will be showcased at Mainframe during Art Attack. Featuring the photography of Paul Hernandez ‘s grunge era retrospective, “Star Gazing” .  Alongside these are the coffee sketch illustrations of Bud Cook , entitled“Grunge Gods” , as well as the surreal, whimsical pen and ink drawings of Socar Myles . Local artists Julie Baroh and Kyle Abernethy , the founders of Krab Jab Studio will also be exhibiting sets of fantastical paintings.

Illumination Studio# 305   Concepts In Abstract . Come in to where color lives. We specialize in abstract, organic, color field and spacial paintings. Dari Stolzoff with abstract and organic, Ferrell with color field and spacial, Ramona Bell with narrative, abstract paintings and Badieh Bryant painting geometric abstract. Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center   “Figures and Landscapes”, new works by local artist Dave Clay. Dave’s work expresses the emotional and physical aspects of sexuality,isolation, distortion and environmental elements that affect each one of us. Lush and sensual examples of the human body and Industrial landscapes.

The Palace Theatre and Art Bar  presents Holiday Pop-up art shop and Disco Christmas Party ! The New Palace Theater and Art Bar is doing an artist’s pop up shop for Art Attack Dec 8th. Come in to shop local artists and then stick around for a fun night of Christmas Disco with Disco Vinnie.

Praxis Arts Through The Crystal Ball an exhibition by Alyson McCrink (Spellbound Fine Art). Seattle based professional artist whom creates other worldliness in a variety of mediums, sizes and textures utilizing ink, gold flake and resin on wood panel, as well as acrylic, modeling paste and gold/silver/copper leafing on stretched canvas.

studio e   Warren Dykeman continues to “hunt for the right kind of wrong” as he merges folk art, Neo-primitive, graphic art, and typography in his latest mixed-media collaged paintings. In Attention Span , his second solo exhibition with studio e, and following his recent show at Volta NY, Dykeman has found an original way to bring digital designing tools into his artwork, and juxtapose those with the physical and abusive handling of his pieces. The resulting works showcase the artist’s signature iconography including exquisite weeds, “big dumb boots,”, potted shrubbery, flaming wigs, floating scaffolding, and mysterious silhouetted figures achieved by digital manipulation of a hand-drawn form and shape, further reworked by traditional painting and drawing techniques.

Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery   Sarah Romano Diehl presents her new book From Crust Till Dawn , a memoir of her days in a pizza parlor, with a pizza party and book signing. Printed by Georgetown’s own Paper Press Punch. Saturday, October 13, 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

Bridge Productions For our October exhibition, Bridge Productions is pleased to present Seattle-based printmaker Kim Van Someren ‘s first solo show,Into Its Own Echo . Van Someren’s work describes an architecture that defies physics – the hulking, awkwardly traversing forms either lurch forward on impossibly small pins, or stand supernaturally affixed to the ground; impractically cantilevered extensions catapulting out of the frame. Art Forma   Kindness In a Glance: The Photography of Nathan Vass. Nathan Vass, popular Seattle artist, blogger and bus driver, will feature large format portraits and excerpts from some of his most moving stories. The show will feature prints Nathan personally developed at the last color darkroom in the United States, which is soon to be closed. He will also debut and sign his new book, “The Lines That Make Us: Stories from Nathan’s Bus.”   artforma.seattle on Instagram

All City Coffee   Memories Are MineHen Chung. Mixed Media on Paper. Erased memories, like dead erasers, still speak. You can try to erase moments in time but marks remain –  the flecks of rubber on paper, the stains on an eraser.

Prairie Underground features the work of muralist of Xavier Roache, a Seattle based artist of color who is passionate about self expression through visual art and building community. Since he graduated from Alfred University in 2016, his art has been showcased across the United States and has collaborated with artists in London and Australia.

Marela Zacarias Studios Working with a labor-intensive process that merges sculpture with painting, Marela Zacarias fabricates forms out of wire screening attached to wooden supports or found objects to which she applies layers of plaster to create undulating forms. Through sanding, polishing, and painting, she creates sculptures with the quality of fabric, filled with movement and expressive quality. She then paints the sculptures with original patterns and geometric abstract shapes that are inspired by her research.  Her work is characterized by an interest in site specificity, socially committed history and current events. Open to the public during Art Attack. 1222 S Angelo St. Seattle, WA 98108

Mainframe will be ushering in the autumn season with new ink drawings by illustrator Socar Myles. Known for her delicate, detailed and whimsical drawings of birds, trees and fantastical beasts, Socar has been a favorite with Art Attack regulars for many years, and this new set will surely delight!

Wittman Estes Architecture  presents F L A M B E A U. Jodie Stejer is an Encaustic artist: applying a fired torch to fuse together beeswax, resin, pigments and shellac to create abstracts inspired by her emotions within. Join her Saturday, October 13 th from 6-9 for the opening reception.

Elysian Brewing  Ellen Picken Untitled Mural is ongoing and on display on the outside of the tap room. This artwork embraces abstraction through an insistent rhythm of lines that evoke the worn grooves of a vinyl record being obsessively played until the scratches make it uniquely yours. The oscillation markings are like sound-waves. They look the way punk rock feels; disruptive, fast, loud… never losing momentum.

studio e   In her latest solo show, Molly Magai continues to explore the world of highways and factories as intriguing, barely noticed peripheral spaces. The manmade structures, and increasingly important natural elements, are seen as if in motion, and often rendered in a near abstract gesture. Interstitial presents SIGNALS, the collaborative project by artists Nicolas Sassoon and Rick Silva depicting the alteration of natural forms through computer graphics thru April 28.

Describing their process as “pairing complementary fields of research in computer imaging,” Silva and Sassoon execute visual renderings of seascape environments through video installation and sculptural work. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Disjecta Contemporary Art Center as supportive programming to Chromatic Saturation by Sondra Perry. The final exhibition of the Season 7 Curator in Residence Program lead by Julia Greenway.

Atelier DF7  is the working art studio and exhibition space of painter, collage-artist Dede Falcone. Squarely positioned as a strong abstractionist painter for over 20 years, Dede collaborates with private clients and interior designers to create original commissioned art-works.  Works are also available for purchase; framed or unframed in a variety of dimensions, and color. Guests are welcome to ask about process and creation.

Prairie Underground  FOUND Space (in absentia) is pleased to present our inaugural exhibition: softcore, a two-person show featuring L.A. and Seattle-based artist Lauren Fejarang and Seattle-based Indonesian-American choreographer & performer Imana Gunawan, opening on Saturday, April 14th 6 -9pm.

Georgetown Liquor Company  Francine Buckner will be showing photographs of the Georgetown neighborhood and other urban and rural landscapes, microscopy photos, and a collection of portraits of Istanbul and it’s street cats.

Krab Jab Studio and Mainframe offer 2D Works by Stephanie Law and Socar Myles, a beautiful reprise of illustrators. Several works in ink and watercolor featuring birds, foxes and butterflies will be on display. Although the art is from past shows, its too lovely not to be seen again!

Illumination Studio # 305  presenting RostadDari Stolzoff and Ferrell. Abstract paintings, Rostad, explores the inner beauty of our neurological system through vibrant color and Ferrell explores spatial and color field through abstraction. Dari Stolzoff with abstract expression in bright color and light. Also welcoming our visiting artist Romona Bell. Music by “DJ” Luscious Leopard Lips, who brings our background music with a Theremin synthesizer and keyboards. Always presenting new work, it’s a celebration of color.

Praxis Arts Theoria Gallery, a part of Praxis Arts, presents a solo exhibition from Gordon Wood. Join us during this free and family friendly event as we discuss and view 10 brilliant pieces of multimedia artwork during the opening reception, April 14th 6-9pm.

Nupasa Gallery is showing the art of Rick Klu. “My art is not about the mastery of any one medium. It is a way of thinking that I apply to all that I see and do.” – Rick Klu. While being accomplished in many mediums,Rick Klu generally produces visual art in the form of paintings, drawings, photographs and video.This latest body of work explores form, contrast, and texture through black and white mostly. But, included are some pieces in color, as well, to illustrate a contrast between the two.

The absence of humans in human-made or manipulated environments is depicted in different settings and circumstances that evoke a variety of feelings, whether through abandoned buildings, nostalgic longing, momentary absence, industrial objects left to decay in nature, or futuristic ghost cities. Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery  presents Michael Dormer and the Legend of Hot Curl with surf sounds by Pleasure Island. The late Michael Dormer is synonymous with the California surf counterculture in the 1960s and 1970s. The post-World War II influence of Beatnik poetry, jazz, and art interpretation around the California Coast created a revolution in the Orange County surf world, and no one defined the visual style of this movement more than Dormer. This exhibition of original work opens on Saturday, August 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, with music by Pleasure Island at 7:00.


All City Coffee  Machine Safari will be showing thru August. Mark Selander draws and paints on site portraits of industrial equipment. Like animals in the wild these machines make up the mega-fauna of our urban environment, each performing a functional task and part of a greater system. The result of finding, observing, and recording these machines is represented here in watercolor, pencil, and pen.

Bridge Productions is delighted to present In Time, a solo show of work by Portland artist Patrick Kelly. Patrick Kelly’s ongoing series of graphite drawings recall objects found in the natural world such as geological rock formations, hematite, or obsidian. Their layering is a laborious process of hand-drawn overlapping lines describing various jagged gestures to build up the form. The resulting drawings play with and thwart the light in a pearlescent black mass; creating the illusion of a sculptural object in relief on flat, black paper.

Oxbow  Artist Dan Webb presents “The Visitor” at Oxbow in Georgetown-an evolving installation about inclusion, conversation, and relationships. This is the latest in a series of artist residencies, creating site-specific works. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays-6/29 through 8/26. Gallery hours are 10am-5pm (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday)

Krab Jab Studios  August is our Summer Sale! The gallery will be marking select original works of art at 5-10% off market price, with works by some of our most popular artists. Featuring art by Socar Myles, Tory Taber, Samuel Araya, Liba W Stambollion, Terese Nielsen, Bastien Lecouff Deharme, Brian Froud and more.

Eight and Sand  August will be the closing reception for Insectarium. This will also be the final show for Eight and Sand gallery. We hope to see you one last time to thank you for all the years of friendship and patronage. Insectarium group show is all things creepy, crawly and a little cute too. Artists were asked to create artwork incorporating their favorite or most feared insects. Machine House Brewery For August Art Attack, Machine House Brewery will host Shark Attack, a multi-artist, multi-media exposition centering around the most famous and infamous member of the Chondrichthyes class of aquatic chordates. Sharks have found their way into pop culture by way of tv, music, cartoons, games and fruit snacks. Shark Attack pays homage to these creatures and their exploitation. Artwork and games from 6pm-9pm with live bands from 8pm until 11pm.

Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center  features “Midnight  2, this time it’s PURR sonal”This beautiful solo show is new oil paintings in lush, loose strokes of impressionistic color by Georgetown resident artist Dan Mahon. Dan has brought back his muse Jack the cat, reveling in the feline duality of majesty and pure badass, Jack and friends will rule the walls with pure attitude and allure as only cats can do. Bring your friends, dog lovers, cat lovers and the curious of heart no matter their age. Artist will be present during Art Attack.

Hoedemaker Pfeiffer LLC presents Fractured Landscapes, an exhibition program developed by Hoedemaker Pfeiffer and curated by Bridge Productions. In Fractured Landscapes, Seattle-based artists Dave Kennedy and Tim Cross find visual communion through overlapping aesthetics and a rigorous, process-based practice. Their compositions are built by layering, tiling, and kaleidoscoping forms, photographs, and blocks of color to create intricate, prismatic facsimiles of our world. The reality of these new worlds mimics our own, but reveals something surreal or previously unseen. As a result, they gather together to form an analogous and complementary duo.
